Fall Saturdays Coaching program

Keep the progression flowing as we roll into fall with our Fall MTB Club. Now offering the weekend program.

With cooler temperatures and all-time conditions, fall is one of the best times to ride and improve when you feel the most comfortable on your bike after a summer of shredding.

During these seven weeks, we work through the 6-skills of mountain biking, using a mixture of fun, skill development drills and trail riding to develop technical proficiency.

This multi-week program gives them an excellent opportunity to learn as we can leave them with something to practice in between sessions each week. Working with them over seven weeks helps to maximize the progression.

Ultimately we aim to help them build on their biking skills while gaining the tools to succeed in life!

Equipment

  • Modern correctly sized mountain bike in good mechanical condition with quality brakes, gears and tires.
  • Helmet, gloves, knee pads (well fitted)
  • Spare tube
  • Rain jacket
  • Snacks & water
  • Suitable riding footwear, flat shoes recommended or MTB specific footwear if possible

Riding levels

At SMBA we know that matching the ability of our groups with the right experience is a sure-fire way to create the best learning environment. Please read on and find the level that best suits your child, or contact us to help pick the right package. 

  • Comfortable Riding:

All green trails and most blue trails but need some help clearing tricky blue sections and some blue-rated technical trail features.

 

  • Working On/Towards:​

Bunny hops, tabletop jumps, small drops, trail flow, roll downs, blue/black rock rolls and features.

 

  • Stamina

Can ride at a steady pace for 1-2 hours with regular breaks.

  • Comfortable Riding:

All blue trails and most black trails but still needs some help on tricky black sections and black-rated technical trail features. 

  • Working On/Towards:

Manuals, gap jumps, drops, advanced line choice, black rock rolls and features, increasing trail speed and flow. 


  • Stamina

Can ride at a steady pace for 2-3 hours with regular breaks.
